Taking Applications for All MMR Executive Staff Positions
for Fall 2008 Semester

Moore Media Records is currently taking on-line applications for All MMR Executive Staff positions for the Spring 2008 semester. Please read the job descriptions below for more info on each position.

Label President
The Moore Media Records President oversees operation of all departments. The Label President supervises and guides the department in setting and accomplishing goals. The President is also responsible to conducting and heading all Executive Staff meetings, as well as general staff meetings while coordinating all aspects of the functions of MMR. In addition, this department also acts at the liaison between the School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and the organizations personnel. This department may also be delegate new positions for the department as well as integrating with other divisions of the label.

Artists & Repertoire (A&R) Manager
The A&R Manager of Moore Media Records manages the staff that finds and develops new talent for the label. Members of the A&R department will attend live appearances, open mics, concerts, or other events around the local area to evaluate the potential of bands/clients. This department will also be in charge of reviewing demo projects from local artists. The A&R Manager makes sure that Moore Media Records is up-to-date with the local music scene in order to develop and sign new talent to.

Production Manager
The Production Manager of Moore Media Records is responsible for a variety of production elements. This position must have production experience with Pro Tools and engineering experience within the School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. The Production Manager heads the recording process and production elements of each studio session for MMR artists and makes sure that every recording session is properly staffed with appropriately trained people. In addition, the Production Manager and his/her team is responsible for setting up live sound and engineering live sound for each concert which is sponsored by Moore Media Records. Members of the Production Department may work closely with the Demo Service, Artist Relations, and Promotions/Marketing Departments.

Demo Service Manager
The Demo Service Manager for Moore Media Records runs studio sessions for non-MMR artists and bands. This position must have production experience with Pro Tools and engineering experience within the School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. He/she is also responsible for working closely with artists and bands who are seeking out a producer/engineer for a demo project. This may include contacting local artists and scheduling recording times in which these said artists or bands could record for a set rate. The Demo Service Manager will work closely with the Production Department.

Multimedia Manager
The Multimedia Manager is responsible for most things regarding multimedia, including (but not limited to) being in charge of the MMR BCA webpage through Moore Media Digital Design (M2D2), updating the Facebook and MySpace webpages, and filling the role of the liaison between Moore Media Records and WMHW and MHTV. The Multimedia Manager would oversee any radio or television productions generated by Moore Media Records. Also included with this position is the direction of art, including heading projects in terms of album art, flyering, and duplication of CDs.

Artist Relations Manager
The Artist Relations Manager of Moore Media Records is responsible for managing a staff that works with bands/artists that the label would like to sign or have already signed with Moore Media Records. The primary goal of Artist Relations is to make sure artists are working on their music and are prepared for their recording sessions with good material. Members of the Artist Relations department should keep in regular contact with potential and signed artists assigned to them by the Artist Relations Manager working closely with our Production and Promotion/Marketing Departments in order to plan new projects and promote events for our artists.

Promotions/Marketing Manager
The Promotions/Marketing Manager of Moore Media Records is in charge of promotional activities for the label and its artists. This department will create exposure and imaging for MMR artists including, but not limited to, flyers, radio airplay, album advertisements, and special events. This department also is in charge of promoting the label itself through creative imaging exercised through radio spots, event flyers, events planning, etc. The Promotions/Marketing Manager will work closely with the Multimedia, Artistic Relations, and Production Departments to achieve the vision of the label.

Business Manager
The Business Manager keeps track of artist contracts and label expenses. This department will seek new and repeat funding to support Moore Media Records activities through businesses, professional, and personal grants, sales or donations to the organization and School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. The department will also authorize budgets for the other departments within the label.

All applications must be filled out by Wednesday, March 26th by 5:00PM. Upon filling out an application, you must also submit an unofficial transcript to the BCA Office (located in Moore 340).
