About the Show Central View is a magazine formatted show, meaning that it is divided up into segments or little vignettes that each have their own focus. The segments are then compiled with our host, Alex Decker’s, comments to create the final half-hour show. Central View currently runs five segments per episode, and they are as follows: “Movies Central” (Produced by Devin Reuter & Kathryn Elmore) – Two graduate students, Kevin and Garrett sit down and review and critique a couple of films. They share their likes and dislikes and whether or not they would recommend buying, renting, or skipping the movies altogether. “Recruit” (Produced by Jeremy Olson) - Each episode we'll follow Karlie Powell as she becomes a member of a student club or organization around campus for a and experiences what it's like to be a rugby player, water polo star, or whatever we can think up!" “Listen Up” (Produced by Derek Rottman) – In this segment we sit down with local musical talent as they describe the musical inspirations, aspirations, and complications of being an artist in Mid-Michigan. "Taste of the Town" (Produced by Nicole Shackleford and Hailey Uribe) - Our host, Rachel Stanley, takes us around Mount Pleasant searching for the hidden gems of culinary enjoyment that our seemingly small town has to offer. You may have never heard of these places before, but after viewing this segment, you'll definitely want to pay them a visit! "Your Voice" (Produced by Ian Wood) Every episode, our host, Jessica Worth, asks a question around campus, stirring the minds of our brilliant student body. "King of States" (Produced by Kyle Minch) Shot documentary style, this segment follows the local band, Day In Day Out, on their tour of the East Coast. Find out what it's like to be a touring musician with all the glam and grime that accompanies it! About the Executive Producer Central View is produced by Derek Rottman. Derek is a second-year graduate student at Central Michigan University with industry experience in cinematography, editing, motion graphic design, and web development. Upon graduation, he plans to work in post-production as well as a possible career in higher education.
