Brief Biography:

Dr. Urish is a culturologist specializing in humor, film, popular culture, and mass media. He has taught at several institutions, notably Michigan State University and Temple University (Philadelphia). He has published on the topics of film, music, Television, and culture theory. He has worked on a handful of ethnographic documentary films and recorded experimental music and performance pieces. He is currently editing a collection of key writings by Ray Browne, the founder of the Popular Culture Studies movement in the United States, for McFarland Press.
