NBS/AERho E- Board Meeting
October 11, 2007
Moore 205, 6:30 p.m.

- Justine has acquired prizes for film contest participants. Rules were handed around and looked at by e-board members. We’re going to make announcements about competition in BCA classes in the coming weeks.
- Sarah is thinking about La’s for more fundraising, but wants to focus on one at a time, so for now, we’re just working on the shirts.
- Chelsea has brought up 3 Dull Guys doing an improv show for fundraising, she’s going to talk to the improve crew so more.
- Keith, who is the newly appointed social chair, had tossed around the idea of taking a trip to John’s Cider Mill for a social.
- Chris Duncan, the global communications guy for Dow and Isha Cogburn will be speaking at the next general meeting. A social at the Cabin is planned for after the meeting.
- Stacey and Sarah, are going to look into getting permission for getting a table to sell more shirts in Moore Hall after the original orders come in.
- There IS going to be a regional production competition this year, so if you’re interested you can check out the website at www.nbs-aerho.org
- Our total profit from the original T-shirt sale was $124.

NBS/AERho E-Board Meeting
September 27th, 2007
Moore 205, 6:30 p.m.

Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m.
-Ashleigh made up flyers and is sending out an e-mail to Alumni for Alumni takeover, regarding becoming a professional member, etc.
-Justine’s working on a short film festival contest, tentatively scheduled for November 1st. $10 entry fee, prizes for the winner and possibly showcase the films in Park Library.
-For Fundraising T-shirts, we are handing out order forms by next week, there will be sign-ups to work the table to sell shirts in Moore Hall, get permission from Joan to have a table. California Blue and white t-shirts will be $12, maroon and white hoodies will be $25. Will be selling in Moore Hall from Oct. 8th to Oct. 10th.
-Elections for Executive staff are next week at the general meeting.
-MAB career fair, Oct. 2nd
-Start going over Nationals and planning trip within the next month.
-Improv show for fundraising, looking to get 3 Dull Guys to perform for an NBS fundraiser.
-Possible interest in selling La’s gift certificates for fundraising?

- Announcements ( BCA scholarships, upcoming Career Fair Oct 2nd)
- Station Tour of PBS is scheduled for Oct. 5th
- Jordan (Tours and Speakers) has Chris Duncan (Dow) lined up to speak at the Oct 18th meeting.
- Fundraising shirt sales: getting order forms for next week, T-shirts, color is California Blue and White.
- Looking for members to work on an NBS promotional video, contact Dan.
- Tailgating for the game on Saturday, Dan’s truck at 1:30, a silver Silverado.
- Took nominations for Fundraising, Historian and M2D2 e-board positions.
- Membership applications for NBS are due by Oct 18th, they are due to Nationals by Nov. 1st.
- Alpha Epsilon Rho (AERho) is an honor society for NBS members who have been members for a year. You can apply to be a member of AERho by going to the NBS website at www.nbs-aerho.org.
- We have some interest in a 24 hour film festival, in which participants create their own films in 24 hours. Anyone interested, contact Justine.
- Next general meeting is Oct. 4th.
- Jerry reviewed the membership form that is available on the NBS website and we went over dues.
- Social to follow conclusion of meeting.

- Disney Parks $36
-Can go early (sat or sun), at a hotel room cost of $166.69 per night
- Hotel is Paradise Pier
- Sign up early for convention
-Jordan (Tours and Speakers) has Chris Duncan (Dow) as a scheduled speaker for October 18.
-Looking for a speaker for the upcoming general meeting, Sept. 20th
-Social at La Seniorita’s after general meeting Sept. 20th
-Nominations Sept. 20th
-Fundraisers? Shirts “Broadcasters…we do it in 60 seconds”
-Stacey to be in charge of shirts and pricing
-Look into having Moore 120 be our new meeting room
-Chalking Tuesday, the 18th for Sept 20th meeting
- Membership dues are due by November 1st
- Station Tours, PBS? Tentative date for October 5th
- Ideas for fundraising include Movie nights, 24 hour film fests and sitcom nights
-Oct 2nd is the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Career Fair

-Dan made a slide show of the E-board members that was shown at the beginning of the meeting and E-board was introduced to the general members.
- Dan welcomed everyone to the meeting , talks about the National Convention and Stacey and Dan talk about the upcoming year.
- Jordan talked about the speakers that are going to come to upcoming meetings.
- A sign up/ e-mail list was passed around for the new members.
Meeting was adjourned for pizza at 7:05 p.m.

NBS/AERho E-Board Meeting

Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m., Dan Church presiding.

- Caleb will not be able to make a lot of meetings this semester. He will be looking to train someone to help him out with the website.
- Chelsea needs to be put on the bank account by the end of the month.
- Chelsea will be busy with sorority recruitment over the next month, so if you need to get a hold of her send her an email or get with Dan.
- The itinerary for the first General Meeting on Sept. 6th was decided. Dan will be making a slide show of past events to show during the meeting. He will also work on getting the pizza.
- The schedule of meetings for the rest of the semester was decided.
General Meetings: Sept. 6th, Sept 20, Oct 4th, Oct 18th, Nov 1st, Nov 15th, Nov 29th
E-Board Meetings: Sept 13th, Sept 27th, Oct 11th, Oct 25th, Nov 8th, Nov 25th ( if needed)
Dec. 6th- Initiation
- Possible fundraiser ideas were thrown around. We need to do a lot of fundraising this year to get to Nationals! We would like to have our first fundraiser planned by the end of September.
- Our second general meeting on Sept. 20th, we would like to have a social afterwards.
- Dan will send an email out tonight to let E-board know when they should visit classes this week.
