MHTV Embarks on 34th Season
September 24, 2006
Mount Pleasant– Moore Hall Television (MHTV), Central Michigan University’s campus television station, is set to take to the airwaves for the 34th season on Monday, September 25.
Unlike other local TV stations, at MHTV students run everything. The writing, producing, acting, programming and promotions for the station are left entirely to the students. Original newscasts, shows and sports programming are all offered on this station, which airs Monday through Friday evenings on channel 34 on campus and 23 off campus.
This season a few MHTV staples will be returning. “News Central 34,” an hour-long local newscast will air at 5 p.m. The entertainment program “Central View,” will return for another season of music, video games, and special topic talk at 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., “MHTV Sports” will take over with a live look at the CMU sports action.
In addition to the old favorites, two new shows will make their debut. “Plain Jane,” starting at 8 p.m., follows the story of four college girls and their adventures in love on campus. At 8:30 p.m., “Team Fun” takes a look at life on campus that is anything but average.
On the air since 1972, MHTV is dedicated to unique and quality programming completely created by CMU students. The station has been recognized for its professional level of programming for the past five years as winner of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) College Station of the Year.
