The
nineties saw big advancements for MHTV overall.
The decade produced numerous legacy shows,
such as Cinema Central and Fade to
Black, which were produced semester after
semester for air. The tail end of the decade
brought complete upgrades to the station equipment
and the transition into digital format video
began.
The transition truly took base in the spring of 1997 when the video router caught
on fire and almost wiped the station out of existence. Some circuit boards melted,
the router was un-repairable and there was no funding to purchase replacement
equipment. The President's Initiative Funds provided the funding to equip the
studios.
The station was completely gutted during the summer of 1997 and still aired a
fall season despite no equipment. The engineers set up a temporary router, VHS
deck, and television on a cart in the lobby which served as the transmitting
facility for a semester. The new facilities opened in the spring of 1998 with
complete upgrades.
91 Rock FM's Video
Show. An alternative music video program that aired in 1992.
91.5 Videos from
the Edge. A show that transitioned from 91 Rock FM's Video
Show. This program aired for multiple semesters from 1993-1995.
A Boy and his Couch.
A variety talk show with parodies, musical guests and interviews.
Boy aired in 1994.
After Dusk.
A dramatic program that aired in 1998.
Ace Mini Theater.
A half hour dramatic series that aired in 1999.
Aesculapia.
A half hour drama exploring the dreams of college freshman that aired in
1998.
All Kidding Aside.
A sketch comedy that aired for a couple of semesters in 1991 and 1992.
Assorted Sauces.
A variety show and special event that aired only once in 1995.
Beyond Normal.
A newsmagazine that examined bizarre and controversial issues. Beyond
Normal aired in 1998.
Campus Court.
A court show for college students that aired in 1999.
Centraltainment
this Week. An entertainment news show focusing on entertainment
happening in and around Central Michigan University. Centraltainment
brought the news to MHTV in 1999.
Cinema Central.
Each episode was a different self contained production in a different movie
genre. It aired over multiple semesters from 1996 to 1999.
CM and U: The Ultimate
Talk Show. A talk show that aired in 1992.
Comedy Show.
A sketch comedy show that aired in 1993.
Crosstalk.
An issue oriented talk show that was simulcast on WMHW. It aired multiple
semesters between 1991 and 1994.

500. An entertainment news program that aired in 1991.
Fade to Black.
A film review and analysis show. Fade to Black was one of MHTV's
longest running productions. It aired from 1990 to 1996.
First Look.
A newsmagazine highlighting events at CMU and around Mt. Pleasant. First
Look aired in 1998.
Hanging Low.
A cartoon show that aired in 1991.
It's Just a Video
Show. A music video show that aired in 1991.
J.C and his Mangy
Goatherders. A sketch comedy that aired in 1993 and 1994.
Kartoon Kaos.
A public domain cartoon show that aired in 1993.
Left of the Dial.
A music show compiled of music videos, band interviews, live performances
and student produced music videos. Left of the Dial aired in 1998
and 1999.
Live From Studio
A. A live music show focusing on one band per episode. LFSA aired
from 1998 to 2001.

A newsmagazine show focused on CMU's campus. Over that Edge aired
in 1996.

A public affairs program that aired in 1999 and 2000.

Pretty on the Inside.
A magazine show focused on women's issues that aired in 1999.
