The
year 2000 returned MHTV to its roots with its
programming. MHTV Sports returned
in its full form and started airing a "Game
of the Week" as a capstone to the end
of every night of broadcast. Sports crews also
help with WCMU's live coverage of the Men's
and Women's Basketball seasons from Rose Arena.
Fiber lines laid between Moore and Rose eliminated
the need for remote trucks. The station instead
created a "crazy box" for all
remote purposes and transported it in whatever
vehicle
they can get it to fit into.
In the spring of 2001, MHTV premiered a concept show called Central View. Central
View was created by Kevin Essebaggers and would come to serve as the flagship
program in the nightly lineup. Each year, Central View's executive producer
is a current graduate assistant in the BCA program.
Student produced shows changed each semester with an average of three new shows
in every lineup. MHTV ran programs on a set ten-week schedule with each episode
receiving eight airings before the next episode.
Station upgrades continued and students were able to utilize equipment capable
of completing any production from tape to post in a completely digital format.
AVID XPRESS machines were updated with new computers and half the edit bays operated
with Final Cut Pro.
In 2002, 2003 and 2004, MHTV earned the prestigious
title of "College Station
of the Year" from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation.

A show discussing history and its portrayal in film. Real to Reel aired
in 2000.
The Lighter Side.
A variety/comedy magazine show focused on all things entertainment. The
Lighter Side aired in 2002.
The Starting Lineup.
A sports discussion and opinion show that aired in 2003 and 2004.
The Tour.
A showcase of musical performances at a local venue in 2003.
Trapdoor.
An improvisational sketch comedy that aired in 2002.
Trivia Tac Toe.
A trivia game show where contestants competed on a tic- tac- toe board. T3
aired in 2003.
Turntable.
A music talk show that argued the greatest artists of all time in 2001.
Underscore.
A show that highlighted the Michigan music scene. Underscore aired
in 2001.
