About Dr. Urish Dr. Urish is the new Faculty Advisor for Film Society. He is a culturologist specializing in visual culture. Both his MA thesis and PhD. dissertation were film studies. He teaches film and media courses for BCA. Dr. Urish has made a handful of documentaries and taught numerous film courses at a variety of institutions and gives special lectures and film presentations. He was a member of the Wichita Film Society from 1977 through 1989, planning, programming, and publicizing film screenings, festivals, and lecture presentations. He also wrote approx. 100 film notes for the screenings in addition to a history of the WFS, which was founded in 1951. |
